At Grace Baptist Church we are blessed to be served by our deacons (1 Timothy 3:8–13 ; Acts 6:1–7) as they lead service-specific ministry teams of our church members to serve the body. If you need assistance or would like to be involved in one of these ministries click the icon below .
Building and Grounds
Arthur Crawford
This team is responsible for ensuring the good stewardship of our property and building. The team works closely with the Pastor of Administration and Church Custodian/Maintenance worker in utilizing budgeted resources for the upkeep of the building and grounds. Individuals on this team are not required to be members of the church.
Finance, Benevolence, and Charis
Tim Zimmerman
This team is responsible for carrying out the financial ministry of the church in cooperation with the pastors and the Financial Task Force. There are three primary areas of responsibility: (1) Coordinating the annual budget process, (2) Working with the Pastor of Administration with benevolence opportunities that will move toward long-term sustainable help for individuals, and (3) Managing the Charis line item for financial assistance of Grace Baptist members with needs. Individuals on this team must be members of the church.
Handy-Man
Mike Honeycutt, Bruce Parkey, Chad Davis
This team is responsible for assisting with the physical needs of the members of Grace Baptist. The team works to determine how best to serve members in a way that meets physical needs and mobilizes the people of Grace to assist with these needs. Individuals on this team are not required to be members of the church.
Hospitality
Frank Carrington, Mark Huffman, Barry Bray
This team is responsible for creating a welcoming environment at Grace Baptist on Sunday mornings and at other strategic outreach events. Members on this team will serve as greeters, assist at the welcome desk on Sunday mornings, and/or serve as ushers to assist visitors in finding a seat and feeling welcome. At strategic outreach events, this team is tasked with making visitors welcome and connecting them to members. Individuals on this team must be members of the church.
Media and Tech
Brian Shannon, David Murray
This team is responsible for carrying out the media and technology portion of our ministry at Grace Baptist. This ministry is primarily carried out on Sunday mornings and evenings during worship but will also include times in which the entire church gathers and there are media/tech needs. This team’s goals are to (1) serve in minimizing distractions from worship, (2) assist any leaders/speakers as needed with sound/video needs, and (3) determine the most effective ways Grace Baptist can use media/tech to further the gospel beyond the walls of our building. Individuals on this team must be members of the church.
Member Care
Vertrees Molden, Spenser Claiborne
This team is responsible for providing care to members in times of need such as bereavement, sickness, and/or hospitalization. This care includes phone calls, visits, and/or the coordination of providing meals to those in difficult times. Individuals on this team must be members of the church.
Prayer
Mike Pope
This team is responsible for assisting with the physical needs of the members of Grace Baptist. The team works to determine how best to serve members in a way that meets physical needs and mobilizes the people of Grace to assist with these needs. Individuals on this team are not required to be members of the church.
Shut-in and Dementia Care
Pat Jenkins, Vic Minton, Robert Parker
This team is responsible for ensuring the ongoing care of Grace Baptist members who are homebound temporarily or permanently for health reasons. Individuals on this team must be members of the church.
